Se-EBikes

FAQ

Do I need a credit card?

Yes. When you make a reservation, we send you a QR code to show at our checkout counter. You only get charged when you pick up the bike. Your security deposit is released as soon as you bring the bike back.

How long does the battery last?

A full charge covers a typical day of island riding — Dewey to Flamenco, around town, out to a second beach, and back. Higher assist levels and steeper routes use more battery. If you're planning a long day on Vieques's east end, ask us about a spare battery.

Do I need to know how to ride an EBike?

If you can ride a regular bike, you can ride this one. The motor only helps when you pedal — it doesn't pull away on its own. We give you a quick orientation at pickup.

Can the EBike keep up with traffic?

Yes. The island speed limit across Culebra and Vieques is 20 mph, and our EBikes cruise there comfortably. The roads are very narrow, just barely wide enough for 2 cars, so you will be cruising past everyone else with ease. Parking is difficult to find, but with an EBike you won't be stuck circling looking for a spot.

How old do I have to be?

Riders need to be 18 or older to be on the reservation. Kids can ride in a child seat or trailer with an adult.

Can my kids ride on the bike with me?

Yes. Each bike has a rear seat sized for a child, so a parent can ride with one little one along for the day.

Do you offer child seats?

Yes. Child seats are free — add one at booking or just mention it at pickup and we'll fit it before you head out. Baby seats (for infants) are available as a $10 add-on.

What if it rains?

Light rain is fine; the bikes are weather-protected. For serious weather we may delay or cancel — you're refunded in full.

What if I get a flat or have a problem on the road?

Tap the roadside button in the app. We come to you with the parts or a swap bike. There's no extra charge for the standard call.

Can I rent for just a few hours?

No — hourly rentals aren't available. Most visitors are on the island for at least a full day, so we rent by the day and by the multi-day package.

Do you have helmets in different sizes?

Yes. We have small, medium, and large helmets, all included.

Can I bring a full-size suitcase, beach gear, or a cooler?

Yes — we rent cargo trailers that hitch to the back of the bike. Plenty of room for a big suitcase, a beach setup with chairs and umbrella, or a cooler for a long day at Flamenco. Add one at booking; there's an additional fee per day.

Is the bike app required?

You can ride without it — the bike is just a bike. The app is useful for navigation, hazard alerts on route, and the roadside button. It's free with the rental.

Can I bring the bike on the ferry?

Yes — the ferry allows bikes. We don't typically rent for cross-island use; check with us if that's what you're planning.

How do I get ferry tickets to Culebra?

Book online at puertoricoferry.com in the 30-day rolling window, or buy in person at the Ceiba kiosk. Only about 20% of each sailing's seats are sold online; the rest are in-person and residents get priority. Weekends and holidays sell out. Full walkthrough — plus what to do when it's sold out — on the Culebra ferry tickets guide.

What happens if the bike is damaged?

Normal wear is on us. Crash damage or loss is on the renter. If the damage is less than the security deposit we will partially refund your deposit.

Can I cancel?

Free cancellation up to 6 hours before pickup.

Do you offer guided tours?

No. We rent bikes; the day is yours to plan.
